FWC sponsors participation in the 2010 Emerging Pacific Leaders' Dialogue - New Caledonia

‘I would like to first thank my sponsor, Fitzpatrick Woods Consulting, for making it possible for me to experience a life changing opportunity and also acknowledge their contribution in educating the region on recent carbon trade/REDD issues through their website.' Ruth Pune, PNG.

Ruth Pune from Goroka, PNG was enabled to participate in a high profile and effective leadership course - the Emerging Pacific Leaders' Dialogue - in New Caledonia. Ruth met, worked, exchanged information, views, concerns and challenges with other emerging leaders across the Pacific Region.

She found that for Pacific Island States many issues are common: HIV/AIDS, security, climate change.  Some states have specific climate change challenges such as those she calls ‘the smaller, sinking countries'.   Ruth was particularly impressed to learn of the independence struggles - and the gender achievements of other countries in the region.   She believes that the network of colleagues and other emerging leaders will be a major support as she develops her own leadership style and potential.

FWC is proud to have been part of this development and congratulates Ruth on her ability to contribute to this regional experience. Please click here to read the full article.
