A Sample of Our Recently Completed Work

FWC has recently completed the following assignments:

  • Worked with the Wattle Range Council, other regional councils and their communities to develop the "Dumping Damages Regional Communities' campaign.
  • Organised and coordinated the Forest Futures conference in Canberra on 24th and 25th November 2009.

  • Developed information materials on the impact of climate change on Australian Industry.
  • Represented Australian industry organisations at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Poznan, Poland in December 2008
  • Organised and coordinated the inaugural Asia Pacific Forest Industries Climate Change Conference in Sydney from 18-20 August 2008. To check out the Conference papers and other information, click here
  • Conducted a successful consumer campaign to change the paper sourcing of a major Australian retailer. To check out the campaign, click here
  • Produced a comprehensive report on workforce impacts of climate change on Australia's local governments. Click here to download the report
  • Managed and implemented Australian government funded, sustainable forest management projects in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
  • Completed submissions to Senate Committee Inquiries and appeared before the Committees
  • Prepared submissions on behalf of industry organisations to the Garnaut Climate Change Review
  • Produced a report for an international non-governmental organisation on labour migration into Australia
  • Reviewed a specialist Registered Training Organisation resulting in new operating arrangements

A sample of our current work is detailed below:

  • Assisting Penola Pulp Holdings to communicate the latest developments in its pulp mill project in regional South Australia
  • European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights- European Union  Over the next three years FWC Solomon Islands office will work with the Solomon Islands National Union of Workers to develop awareness of rights and responsibilities of workers, their families and communities,
  • Reviewing several integrated investment and infrastructure investment proposals for a major institutional investor.
  • Promoting the environmental and social benefits of paper and printed products
  • Advising industry clients in forestry, local government and pulp and paper manufacturing on their climate change obligations.
  • Developing a major global project to protect a World Heritage Area in a remote Solomon Islands region - while developing sustainable livelihoods for local landowners.
  • Co-publishing CarbonEdge, Australia's new carbon markets intelligence and information service

  • Paper Positive

    FWC has commenced a major promotional campaign focussed on the social, environmental and community benefits of using paper and printed materials for communicating. The public campaign is being sponsored by the Australasian Paper Industry Association and its members across Australia.

  • New Project in the Solomon Is. :European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights- European Union

    European Union

    Over the next three years FWC Solomon Islands office will work with the Solomon Islands National Union of Workers to develop awareness of rights and responsibilities of workers, their families and communities, (particularly but not exclusively, those dependent on forests, logging and allied industries) to enable and stimulate them for informed participation in democratic processes.

    Specific work will include the development and production of appropriate materials for national distribution and use - including in specialised weekly radio broadcasts - ensuring effective communication and training with communities at local, provincial and national level regarding their rights and responsibilities as citizens of the Solomon Islands.
